The OurHistree Story

People have always cherished their history; the memories of their life, their family, and their community. With each new advance in technology, people desire new ways to share their stories with others and to preserve them for future generations. Whether as large as a global event witnessed by millions, or as small as the heritage of a family or brotherhood, each memory is priceless to the one who experiences it. OurHistree offers the first-ever gathering place for people looking to preserve, share, and connect their experiences; a place to create Histree.

Preserving, Not Posting

Photographs in safe deposit boxes, film converted to VHS and again to DVD, and backup hard drives all bring to mind our need for preservation. But what if our memories are not ours alone? Currently, the popular social networking websites are the best ways to share cherished memories with others. Unfortunately, "posting" photos and thoughts from personal events on one individual's page only depersonalizes those memories, keeping others from contributing more than comments, and exposing everyone in them to the thousands of people who use the site.

OurHistree allows people to preserve and grow memories in a way no other site does. Members create Histrees by contributing videos, photos, and text from a particular event. Then, people from that event are invited to add their own media. The end product is a personalized Histree, as intricate and special as the memory itself. Furthermore, OurHistree's privacy options allow users to make their Histrees as public or private as they wish. Events can be invisible to outsiders, posted to members-only, or available for all to see. Here, personal events stay personal and public events are opened up to the world.

Finally, A Place for Organizations and Groups

Individuals are not alone in their desire to share and preserve history. Thousands of organizations and associations are trying to connect to their members and to the public via and blogs and social networking sites -- only these groups are struggling to present a clear message because these platforms don't support their needs. Real organizations get lost in lists of groups with related names, while their "profile" pages are blurry montages of advertisements, fan videos, and generic text.

OurHistree offers a comprehensive platform for any organization. Rather than having a mere "profile" page, these groups use OurHistree to build a personalized site. This site is filled with Histrees suited to fit their communication needs. From Alumni Notes to Collector Sites and eConcierges to Private Multimedia Networks, the possibilities are endless as every thriving group desires a unique way to communicate with the public and with its own members.

Making Histree Around the World

Perhaps OurHistree's greatest function of all is how it connects people through events. When members create Histrees, OurHistree shows related events to the users, who can choose to link the events. Like the branches on a tree, more connections are formed, and users can visually see the connections between Histrees. Not only does this function link close friends and family, but it also connects the public. Media from concerts, football games, and even catastrophes can be uploaded onto OurHistree where members share their experiences with one another. By linking these Histrees, members will string a beautiful web, connecting people across the globe around the events that have touched our lives forever.

This is Our time. This is Our heritage. This is OurHistree.
